My boys love Diary of the Wimpy Kid and they recently drew their own ‘Mom Bucks’.  We turned it into a reward scheme (sticker charts don’t work for us!) so that any time they did a job around the house then they would get 1 Mom Buck.  Each ‘Mom Buck’ was worth 20 pence.  Turns out this motivates my boys significantly to help more around the house.  It wasn’t long before the Mom Bucks we had became somewhat limiting.

So I created my own play money, with my own twist of course.  I’ve called them Messy Bucks and added some nice little details to them.  Currently they are in the 1, 5, 10 and 20 denominations.  Which is enough for now even if they are asking me if I have designed the 100 Messy Bucks yet! My boys are loving earning enough of the toy money to trade them in for bigger notes.  And eventually they will trade it in for real money!

All good fun. Click images for full size, then right-click and save as.
